27th February 2013, will see the start of the Packaging Innovations Show at the NEC in Birmingham, and it will provide the perfect platform for packaging manufacturers, suppliers and retailers to showcase their new products and services, and share their new developments in packaging design, materials and technology.

After the success of the 2012 Packaging Innovations show, 63 per cent of exhibitors this year will be launching new products such as environmentally friendly carrier bags and boxes, pharmaceutical packaging such as pump bottles and tamper evident jars, and brand new printing techniques and label designs.

With many of these items of packaging making their global or UK debut, we can expect to see a wide range of smart, responsible and multifunctional packaging, in addition to the growing collection of luxury packaging materials such as Gift Bag-Boxes and bespoke Printed Paper Bags.

The environment and eco-friendly packaging will remain at the top of the agenda for most manufacturers and suppliers at the Packaging Innovations Event 2013, and while most of us are now familiar with the Three ‘Rs’ (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle), UK suppliers Quadpack and their Korean manufacturing partners Yonwoo, will be adding a fourth ‘R’ (Refill) to this earth-friendly mantra.

Highlighting refillable packaging for cosmetics, Quadpack will display a range of ‘four Rs’ packaging solutions from its international partners Yonwoo, Apollo and Brivaplast.

Packaging industry professionals will have the opportunity to visit 50 free-to-attend’ Learn Shops’ spanning every aspect of the industry, such as ‘Social Media, Brands and Packaging’, ‘Current and Future Trends in Packaging Print’, and ‘The Role of Packaging in making Consumers lives easier.’

The Packaging Innovations Show 2013 will close with ‘The BIG Packaging Debate’, where industry professional will debate the topic of ‘Consumers don’t buy Sustainable Packaging.’
